Resonay Text
❦ a poetic and gentle typeface
Poetry (from the Greek word poiesis, making) is a form of literary art that uses aesthetic and often rhythmic qualities of language to evoke meanings in addition to, or in place of, literal or surface-level meanings. Any particular instance of poetry is called a poem and is written by a poet. Poets use a variety of techniques called poetic devices, such as assonance, alliteration, euphony and cacophony, onomatopoeia, rhythm (via metre), and sound symbolism, to produce musical or other artistic effects. ☛ wikipedia.org

Resonay Text is the readable counterpart to the expressive Resonay Display. Classic letterforms, accents of stone cut lettering, and calligraphic expression create a dynamic typeface with generous curves. Its sweeping lines make Resonay Text ideal for poetry and quotation.

Placing particular emphasis on classic typography, Resonay Text features harmoniously proportioned Small Caps and a large number of finely-tuned uppercase ligatures. While 200 ligatures is enough for many fonts, Resonay Text goes a step further with carefully designed initial and final swashes that can add a touch of romance and elegance to every written word. Italic capitals also come with initial forms as standard.

Resonay Text is a typeface with harmonious legibility that has been specially designed for continuous text. Like Resonay Display, it is available in five weights, from Thin to Bold. In addition to classic numerals, it offers medieval numerals and a complete set of superscripts and subscripts for use as needed. Thanks to OpenType technology, the punctuation automatically adapts to the font style.

As a fully-featured OpenType font, Resonay Text has all the features you need for sophisticated typography. It includes a variety of styles for numerals, as well as true small caps and a feature that converts uppercase characters to small caps, including punctuation. Like all TypeMates fonts, Resonay includes an extensive symbol collection and supports more than 200 Latin languages. With more than 2,000 glyphs in each weight, as well as an expressive Italic, Resonay makes it easy to set attractive text.
