Alison Text
Alison Text combines legibility with character strength.

Alison Text strives for elegance in body text.

How can Alison Head’s high-contrast extravagance make a legible text typeface? Distinctive and dependable, Alison Text is the answer.

Inspired by the quirky charm of Altona and the refinement of Alison Head, Alison Text is a reliable foundation for her bold, contrasting siblings. Combined in Alison Variable, the two Alison sisters form a system and express the sophistication of a Didone in text and display versions.

Carefully designed and refined for body text, Alison Text combines good legibility with a delicate appearance. The hairlines, grey scale of regular weight, and the x-height and its relationship to ascenders and descenders have all been specially adapted for small point sizes.

From stable body text, exceptional literature, cosmopolitan publishers, fashion and lifestyle magazines, to museum catalogues and prestigious art magazines, Alison Text is for anyone looking for a typeface with strong contrast, character and composure.

An emancipated evolution of Didone typefaces, Alison is powerful and expressive. This is clearest in the vertically accented serifs and the narrow arches in the curves of b and d, for example. They create a distinctive typeface that contrasts soft strokes and familiar teardrops with a new angularity. Alison’s warm, refined serifs and strokes have a fine, light flow that creates a distinctive character even in small point sizes.

Over 60 different gender symbols offer a fresh, political perspective and typographic expression of modern diversity - even if the official Unicode standard does not yet cover them all.

Alison Text offers comprehensive coverage of Latin languages and all the OpenType features needed for sophisticated layouts: small caps and various figures, including tabular and old style figures, alternatives for accents in Stylistic Set 08, and variants of the & in Stylistic Set 05/06.

Alison Text is not alone. Her sister, Alison Head, brings the same spirit to elegant and expressive display typeface.
