Tyczka

Tyczka is a family-owned company specialising in the supply of energy through liquefied gas and the production of industrial gases. “Gases for tomorrow” is Tyczka’s guiding principle. With offerings such as green air gases, biogenic LPG, green hydrogen and technological solutions, they support their customers in making their processes and products more sustainable and thus make a contribution to a better world of tomorrow. Munich-based agency Serviceplan completely redesigns the Tyczka Group’s branding, while retaining the logo as an important cornerstone of the design. Similar to a chemical process, the brand logo is broken down into basic shapes, which are then reflected in the corporate design as “Tyczka Shapes”, either as individual elements or in combination with each other. This is where our custom typeface comes in: Based on the word mark, the new typeface is clearly recognisable and divided into round and angular details.

The Tyczka typeface consciously picks up on the geometry derived from the branding and logo and combines them into a single entity: In an optimised and functional way, the brand logo is consistently reflected in the design of the typeface. The lowercase t, with its angular stroke, is the closest to the logo. In addition to the basic fusion of round, angular and maximally horizontal elements, there are also individual characters that are designed more independently and with a focus on memorability: A special dynamic is found in G and Y, which convey identity for frequently used technical terms relevant to Tyczka and its sub-brands.

Originally designed as a striking headline typeface, Tyczka’s custom corporate typeface has evolved into a highly functional text typeface that retains its clear position and branding. The exclusive custom typeface is defined by its character and dynamism and supports the forward-looking and open attitude of the Tyczka Group as an important shaper of the energy transition.
