Tom Holloway
A professional hobbyist in an esoteric discipline, what began as a meditation in form away from his corporate design job has grown to become Tom’s passion and specialism.
Since graduating from Goldsmiths, University of London, Tom has been drawn to working with graphic and visual systems. Initially this took the form of interfaces and design systems for complex digital products, but in 2017 a desire to reclaim ownership of his work and build a personal practice led him down the rabbit hole of type design. It started simply by observing and writing about the typographic landscape and quickly shifted into sketching letterforms and typographic systems. Now type has become Tom’s obsession and his (supportive) partner has instituted a ‘no type talk after after 10pm’ rule. This has helped ensure that he is married to this day.
